Goldstein's Smoked Cod's Roe (approx 250-300g)
Smoked Cod's Roe is an intensely salty flavour. To produce it we take only perfect quality cod roe, salt it and smoke it with care for just the right time. It can then be sliced and spread as it is on toast or squeeze out the core of the roe and make traditional taramasalata by blitzing with lemon juice and oil.

I much prefer to make my own taramasalata. I can honestly say that Goldstein’s Smoked Cod’s Roe makes the most delicious tarama ever. None is ever left in the bowl.
A big portion with a smooth taste. Was going to make Tarama with this but it was too good so have been enjoying it neat.
Nearly 100 years ago, my grandfather started a business on Grimsby docks, specialising in cod roe and in the 1960s he used to send our family smoked cod roe when in season. Sadly my Grandfather has long passed on and I've only had smoked roe intermittently, and of variable quality, since then. This is as good as it gets and my only regret is that it's taken me so long to find Goldstein's!
