Smoked Cod's Roe has a strong smoky and slightly salty flavour. It is smoked at a higher temperature than smoked salmon, thus giving it a smooth texture that is delicious spread on toast or crackers. We take only perfect quality cod roe, salt it and smoke it with care for just the right time. Slice it thinly and briefly fry it to make a delicious treat, or squeeze out the core of the roe and make traditional taramasalata by blitzing with lemon juice and oil

Perfect smoked cod roe. It took me back to my childhood, and the monthly trip to Shepherd's Bush to stock up on all the favourites, including smoked cod roe.

First order from Goldstein’s and it was the right decision to try them. Very reasonable price, artisan quality salmon, long sliced, which makes it easier to seperate and ‘sandwichfy’, thoughtfully packed, and they use DPD the best courier you can get with reliable service and good comms.
Out of personal preference I like a robust smoke and salt flavour and if this is you, order the ‘dry’ which is a bit of a misnomer as it’s succulent but more strongly flavoured. I haven’t tried the medium yet.

Love to simply spread on sourdough toast, sometimes on its own, or with some Greek yogurt and a drop or two of Tabasco. Intensely savoury.
